In the cool, unforgiving embrace of Victoria’s Macedon Ranges, a historic site tells a unique tale.
Domaine Razal is shaped by a curious history and geography, with 56-year-old dry-grown vines nestled in a marginal location on quartz-rich, gold rush soils.
This vineyard pioneered the renaissance of the Macedon Ranges wine producing region when it was established in 1968 by colourful Hungarian-Australian restaurateur Tom Lazar.
New owners Stephen and Kerri Stack have been restoring the Lauriston site since they purchased it in 2021: focused on the rejuvenation of its 25-acres of established vines, and the original brick winery and famed underground cellar, with hopes to return the vineyard to its once iconic status.

Estate-grown and handcrafted
The estate was established on the philosophy that winemaking begins in the vineyard, long before the grapes are harvested. This approach will continue to shape the Domaine Razal legacy. With a focus on soil health to cultivate a thriving ecosystem, the goal is to make wines that reflect the unique character of the vineyard and authentic varietal expression.
